Hello!
I’m Angela—a counsellor and psychotherapist with a special interest in ADHD.
I was born and raised on the Moray coast and have spent most of my life here. While I absolutely love my work, when I’m not supporting humans, you’ll likely find me in the garden, curled up with a coffee and a good book, knitting or crocheting, or out on the hills with my dogs. Staying still isn’t exactly my strong suit!
I’ll be honest—I was a bit late to the party when it came to recognising my own spiky neurotype. Despite working with families, children, and teens with ADHD for years, I didn’t see it in myself until a passing comment from a family member and a university lecture came back to haunt me.
I get the challenges of having a brain that works differently. The emotional rollercoaster, the constant sense of not quite fitting in—I know them well. Looking back, I’ve had countless lightbulb moments, finally making sense of things that once seemed like personal failings. Realising that everything you thought you knew about yourself has flipped on its head takes time to process. It’s a grief of sorts, filled with weird feelings and a lot of navigating. I’ve been through it (still going through it, to be honest). It’s tough—but learning to be kind to myself has made all the difference.
Today, I’m a passionate advocate for neurodiversity. I support and enable people with ADHD/AuDHD to recognise their strengths and realise their potential. I also work closely with families navigating life with neurodivergent children.
I hold a Social Sciences degree and a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy.
Over the years, I’ve trained in a wide range of courses to expand my knowledge and skills—learning is a lifelong passion of mine, and I find myself returning to the books year after year. Research informs my practice, keeping me up to date with the latest developments in the field.
I attend regular supervision with a highly experienced therapist to ensure I’m providing the best possible support for my clients. I also undertake regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training, including:
✔ Mental Health First Aid
✔ ADHD Awareness & Psychoeducation
✔ Bereavement & Loss
From 2018 - 2024, I also worked as a volunteer counsellor with Quarriers Carer Support.
I’m a registered Practitioner Member of COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland), accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
